Want to improve your mindset before impromptu Speaking?

I had a quick read of a book The Magic of Impromptu Speaking as part of my morning ritual.  The technique suggested by the author Andrii is called RELOCate and it has various benefits on your mind and on your attempt to become the best impromptu speaker:

1,Relax :
Whenever you are going to the stage for public speaking. Ensure your mind, head/brain is relaxed and you are feeling comfortable in your stomach and heart. Think about the times that you were on holiday and had forgotten the whole world on the top of a hill or a mountain. I am sure all of us have had a variety of experiences in a relaxed mode while being on vacation. Try to invoke some really good memories in speaking and relive the experience in your mind. This will alter your state of mind and you will be ready for the speech.

2.Excited :
Be excited about being in the present (current state) and happy about all the speaking opportunities that you have gotten till now. Visualize the moments of glory when you gave your best talk along with your group of friends or at work and how you made them laugh. Know the fact that the best leaders in the industry are also scared like you when they step on the stage. They also go through nervousness for the initial 10-30 seconds and they do visualize about the audience enjoying their speech and humor. Show your excitement, if you are a new to public speaking, please make an attempt to go the stage.

3.Lively:
One of my mentors Kripanjali Tellis opines that impromptu speaking is more about putting your views in front of the audience boldly and in a very calm, simple and straight forward manner. The objective of either a prepared or an impromptu speech is to share your authentic views about the topic or subject and the same can be achieved when you live in the moment and share your thoughts without batting your eyelid.

4.Openness :
I know from my experience that your audiences are open and appreciate your speech when it touches their heart. Openness to me means telling my experiences about the topic and sharing both pros and cons of a topic and telling the audience what I think about the same. Openness is only possible when you are confident about what you want to say and based on the credibility of your content. If you are faking a story your audience is going to feel the same during the speech. Hence, you may not be able to make an impact. Please put your views in front of the audience without changing its main essence and you will connect with the audience like never before.

5.Confident :
My mentor Bishal says, Confidence is not born but made. I did not agree with this point before meeting Bishal. A famous speaker has also said that confidence breeds confidence. The word confides means to tell yourself. Hence, it is important to have a positive self-talk and use positive affirmations to get rid of confidence busters. Affirmations have helped me not just to be a better speaker but also to be a confident individual in my day to day life. One of the affirmations that I use frequently is " I Speak with confidence and present with excellence" The moment I say this affirmation repeatedly and loudly or in my mind, immediately my state of mind changes and I start feeling better and very confident.
